Sometimes it is hard to find the right words to tell Mom just how I feel. How can I adequately thank her for all her selfless acts of love and tireless devotion. I would like to attempt to let my mother know how much all her efforts are appreciated and how much she is truly loved.
First of all, I would like to present the song, “Mother Of Mine”. It describes a lot of my feeling for my mother. It is as follows: Mother of mine, you gave to me, all of my life to do as I please. I owe everything I have to you, Mother, sweet Mother of mine. Mother of mine, when I was young, you showed me the right ways to do things had to be done. Without your love, where would I be, Mother, sweet Mother of mine. Mother, you gave me happiness; much more than words can say, I think the Lord that He may bless you every night and every day. Mother of mine, now I am grown, and I can walk straight all on my own. I’d like to give you what you gave to me, Mother, sweet Mother of mine.
On this Mother’s Day. I pray God would bless you with peace and joy
forever. Now that I am not by your side, I miss you tremendously. Although you are not with me physically, we connected spiritually. I love you so. Recall the teaching you gave to me when I was young. I have to grasp “The Truth and the Faith”. Your soft voice accompanies me everywhere, your prayers never cease. I thank you for your unchanging love. I thank you, Mother.
“All that I am or hope to be I owe to my angel mother.”” said Abraham Lincoln. Indeed I owe my life to my mother. When I was barely crawling, I picked up a fishbone and swallowed it. By the time my mom saw me, I was choking and starting to turn blue. Not wasting one second, my mom was brave enough to use her fingers to poke into my throat and pulled out the fish bone. Though I was bleeding, mother saved my life, I thank you mother.
Mother was also a very generous person. After the second World War, our family was poor. I was born at a bad time. I needed milk and my mom paid $3.00 Malaysian dollars to buy one can of condensed milk for me. That was certainly very expensive for one can of milk even in today’s living standard. Mother would go to any extend for my survivorship. Thank you mother.
Mother was very strong and hard working. Mother had to plough the fields in the heat of hot sun,( Malaysian weather is 90 degrees to 95 degrees Fahrenheit) while my father was away in Singapore attending annual Church Conference. He was held captive by the Japanese soldiers along with other church ministers. Mother had to be strong for all her children and her community. She offered free land to the local people to plough the fields. Mother told me the people burned the soil and all the insects died leaving fertile soil to bring forth abundant crops. The sweet potatoes were big and sweet. Mother is a very kind-hearted person well loved by all those who knew her.
Mother helped me to baby-sit my kids while I was at work. My job required me to be at work at 3:00 am and my baby would cry when I left home. It was my mother who at her 70s helped to take care of my kids. I thank you mother for your selfless acts of love and tireless devotion for my family. I would never forget my mom’s love. I hope the grandchildren would remember your sacrifice for our family.
Now I am growing old and my children are grown, I am facing with different problems. My Mom would pray for me days and nights. She never stops praying for me and my family. I thank God for my Mom. She is 95 years old now and still up and about visiting friends in Malaysia. All her friends and relatives are overjoyed to be with her. She is healthy and active in her old age, everyday she has a very structured schedule. From my Mom, I see the Cups of Blessing Overflows, surely goodness and mercy follow her all the days of her life. I thank God for my mother.
I hope my story can help to inspire “LOVE, AFFECTION AND SINCERE GRATITUDE” FROM THE CHILDREN TO THEIR MOTHERS. I’d be lost without you, mother, and I only wish I had more than one life-time to repay the incredible debt I owe you. Mother, Happy Mother’s Day and May God Bless You abundantly.
