There was an old man that carelessly dropped one of his new shoes while riding the train.  The people around him felt bad for him.

Unexpectedly, the old man immediately threw out the other shoe this amazed everyone.  The old man explained, “Regardless of how expensive the shoe was, to me it is useless now. But if anyone should find this pair of shoes, he might be able to wear them.”  Evidently the old many had good judgement; rather than keep the loss that is of no use, might as well abandon it completely.

We all have had the experience of losing something important in different degrees, and it casts a shadow in our hearts. We study the reason for such emotional loss and discover that it is due to the fact that we are neither prepared to face it nor are we ready to admit such loss psychologically.  Our emotional well being will not let go to the things that longer exist.  Rather than suffering such worry, why not face the fact squarely and look at the question from another angle; maybe it is to our loss, but it can be someone else’s blessing.

Everything we possess is transient and temporary in nature.  They may disappear in thin air one day.  Let that loss become cute and loveable.  Do not grieve over such a loss, but think of it as something beautiful; what we lose may not be a total deprivation.  It could be a sacrifice or contribution.  When we choose to have an optimistic attitude we then can view the world with hopefulness and the loss may become cute and loveable.
