There were many events happened in this world, some were regretful, some were surprisingly shocking, and then some were congratulatory. Some people said, “It is usual” and some said, “It is ordinary”. But how do we differentiate between them? How do we judge,” It is purely coincidental” or “Merely good luck” or ” Just bad luck” ?
There was an article on interviewing the lucky survivors from the twin towers bombing on NINE ELEVEN. When the catastrophe happened, in actuality, some people should be in the buildings but for some reasons or other, they were not at the scenes of human tragedy and devastation. They lucked out from these horrible destructions. We hope the readers of this article would carefully ponder on the following trivial events and therefore lead a lively and meaningful life.
After NINE ELEVEN some people invited the surviving employees from the World Trade Center and shared with their passing of events which pulled them out from the disaster while their colleagues died in the shocking bombing. Why were they especially lucky that save them from the untimely death? The real reasons were the petty events, the oriental called them “chicken feathers and garlic skin” .
The boss of a company was late because his son started kindergarten school that day; one employee escaped the shocking death that day because it was his turn to buy bread; a woman was late due to the fact that she forgot to turn on her alarm clock and she was held in the traffic; one individual missed the bus; another employee spilled food over her garment, she had to change her dress and that made her late for work; one person’s car broke down and he was unable to go to work that day; another individual was delayed because on his way out his home phone rang; another employee’s kid was not feeling good, she was later than usual; and another employee could not catch the taxi and he was late………..
No event was more impressive than the gentleman wearing his new pair of leather shoes that day. On his way to work, his feet hurt from the blisters, he had to buy bandages for his feet and he was late for work. The petty little irritation kept him alive till now.
To-day, in a high efficiency era, we live in a society full of hustle and bustle where time is more precious than money. Every time we were stuck in the heavy traffic or we did not make it to the elevator or we were in a hurry due to an emergency situation, the phone rang and we were delayed; or during half way to a destination we remembered we forgot to bring the important papers and we had to go back; or we were stopped by the cops or even got a traffic ticket. All these trivial, trifle annoyances, I think, God arranged them to be in our busy schedules where I stopped and paused. My dear friends, may God continue to love you and protect you with these trivial annoyances and we thank God for them.
